HIDE/SEEK/NYC OVERVIEW

Fugitives

Fugitives must surrender all cash, ATM cards, and credit cards at the beginning of the game. Fugitives will not be allowed to return to their apartments or homes for the duration of the game.

Fugitives’ daily activities will be centered on tasks and challenges throughout New York City that they must complete. Fugitives compete against each other to finish tasks quickly and efficiently, vying for daily prizes and points.

Fugitives must check in with Control every two hours and report their location. Locations will be updated online shortly thereafter.

Fugitives are allowed to change their appearance each day in whatever way they choose, as long as such change obscures no more than 25% of their face.

If a Fugitive remains uncaptured at the end of the 17 days, the Fugitive will win the $10,000 prize. If more than one fugitive remains standing, the Fugitive who has amassed the most points by completing tasks quickly will win the prize.

Viewers/Participants

Members of the public who track, find, and catch a Fugitive win a cash bounty prize. The amount of the bounty prize is based on the order of the Fugitive’s capture. The first Fugitive captured carries a prize of $500. The second Fugitive nabbed earns a $1,000 bounty. The member of the public that catches the third and final fugitive wins the $10,000 prize.

Clues to the Fugitives’ daily tasks will be revealed at the Hide/Seek/NYC website, where viewers can begin their efforts to track down the Fugitives.

Internet viewers unable to search the streets can follow the game on the website and forward tips about the Fugitives’ presumed whereabouts to designated Hide/Seek/NYC Hunters. If a Hunter catches a Fugitive thanks to a viewer’s tip, they share the prize.

While the details of how to apprehend a Fugitive will not be released until the start of the game, a Fugitive will be deemed caught when a member of the public finds a Fugitive, approaches him one-on-one, and completes the capture.
